Standing in the heart of historic Ybor City, J.C. Newman’s El Reloj factory is the last cigar factory that still manufactures cigars in Cigar City, USA. Because of this lasting legacy, we have found ways to be active in our community, in order to enrich the surrounding area, and support local businesses, programs, and organizations in our back yard.
Ybor Misfits
J.C. Newman is a proud sponsor of the Ybor Misfits Microsanctuary. This non-profit organization helps severely injured, sick, abandoned, and lost babies who can no longer fit safely within the historic and protected feral flock. They look for safe, loving homes for many of the roosters that they have rescued.
As sponsors, J.C. Newman has “adopted” two of the ambassador chickens – Achilles and Deacon.

Tie The Knot Ybor
J.C. Newman’s historic El Reloj cigar factory is one of six historic stops during this annual wedding showcase called Tie The Knot Ybor. For one afternoon, guests ride the Ybor Trolley around to the venues, experiencing food, drinks, wedding vendors, and more! El Reloj is decorated and designed to give guests the experience of a full wedding in our space.
