Yagua

Yagua is a reimagination of a cigar that Lazaro Lopez, general manager of the J.C. Newman PENSA factory, remembers his grandfather making at his family’s tobacco farm in 1940s Cuba. Each cigar is uniquely shaped and bound while still wet, using a Yagua palmiche palm leaf just as it was done decades ago.

YAGUA

Yagua cigars feature an under-fermented Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper paired with premium Nicaraguan binder and filler tobaccos. Using an unconventional process inspired by old world traditions, Yagua cigars are blended and rolled without many of the standard tools and techniques traditionally used in cigar factories. Because the wrapper leaf is not fully fermented, each cigar is carefully aged for a full year after rolling, allowing the tobaccos to marry and develop a rich, distinctive character.
