Experience the Tradition

For more than a century, cigars have been rolled at El Reloj in Tampa’s historic Ybor City. Today, J.C. Newman’s iconic 1910 cigar factory is the last traditional cigar factory still operating in the United States.

Walking through the doors of El Reloj is like stepping back in time. Here, we have handcrafted cigars the same way for more than a century. Visitors can watch cigars being made, explore the history of Tampa’s cigar industry, and learn about the craft and traditions of cigar making firsthand.

Today, there are even more ways to experience El Reloj. Take a guided factory tour or learn to roll a cigar, enjoy a meal at Elaine’s Restaurant, relax with a cigar at Stanford’s Cigar Club, spend the night at The Inn at El Reloj, gather in Cigar Workers Park, or celebrate a special occasion with us.

Tours & Experiences

Learn the art of cigar making and how cigars built the City of Tampa. From guided factory tours to hands-on classes and tastings, our experiences offer a variety of ways to explore the history, craft, and culture of Cigar City.

Elaine’s Restaurant

Elaine’s is a classic American bistro serving familiar food made with care. Inspired by Elaine Newman’s love of French cooking and time in Paris, it is a restaurant where friends and neighbors will come together to enjoy a good meal.

Stanford’s Cigar Club

Stanford’s is an intimate cigar club shaped by Stanford J. Newman’s lifelong passion for cigars and his belief that they were best enjoyed in good company. Choose a cigar and drink, then let us take care of the rest.

The Inn at El Reloj

The Inn is an 11-room hotel welcoming people who want to slow down. Originally a boarding house for El Reloj’s cigar workers, the historic building has returned to its original purpose: a place to rest and gather.

Private Events

Our historic spaces have been bringing people together for generations. From intimate dinners to large celebrations, we invite you to gather here and become part of the story.

Cigar Workers Park

Located across from the historic El Reloj factory, Cigar Workers Park is named in honor of the generations of cigar workers who helped build Cigar City. It is a perfect place to eat, enjoy a cigar, catch up with friends, or simply spend some time outside.
