A Limited-Edition Tribute to America’s Favorite Pastime
For centuries, cigars and baseball have been celebrated American traditions. From legendary ballplayers enjoying a cigar after a big win to fans lighting up during a day at the ballpark, the connection between America’s favorite pastime and cigars runs deep. We are proud to continue that tradition with the Home Run Humidor, a limited-edition collectible handcrafted from game-used professional baseball bats.
Making its debut in 2024, these one-of-a-kind humidors were created in partnership with renowned artisan Jason LeGear of Milwaukee Humidor Company. The limited release of just 50 humidors was meticulously handcrafted right here in America, built from baseball bats that were used during professional baseball games, giving each piece a unique history and character.
“Baseball and cigars go hand-in-glove,” said fourth-generation owner Drew Newman. “These unique humidors are shaped like home plate with five sides. They were handcrafted from broken bats provided by a professional baseball team.”
The Longstanding Connection Between Baseball and Cigars
The relationship between baseball and cigars stretches back more than a century. Legendary players such as Babe Ruth became almost as famous for their celebratory cigars as their on-field accomplishments. Throughout the game’s history, championship victories, no-hitters, and career milestones have often been celebrated with a cigar in hand.
The Home Run Humidor honors that shared heritage through American craftsmanship and thoughtful design. Shaped like home plate, each humidor is constructed using a combination of American Maple and Birch woods, along with European Beech wood sourced from game-used baseball bats. The result is a stunning display piece that preserves the story of the bats while transforming them into functional cigar storage.
LeGear carefully repurposed every broken bat into thin veneers, ensuring that no two humidors are exactly alike. Because professional baseball bats vary in grain patterns, wood species, markings and wear, each humidor possesses its own distinctive appearance. Every piece tells a different story from the field.
Adding to the baseball-inspired design, LeGear incorporated elegant walnut accents sourced in Wisconsin. These details mimic the stitching found on a baseball, creating a subtle but striking tribute to the game.
This is not the first time LeGear has blended sports history with premium cigar culture. In 2023, he handcrafted The American All-Star Humidor, built from sections of the court used during the 2011 NBA All-Star Game. Last year, he created a series of humidors for the Tampa Bay Lightning using game-used hockey pucks. The Home Run Humidor continues that tradition while celebrating baseball’s unique connection to cigars.
Designed for both collectors and cigar enthusiasts, each Home Run Humidor has a capacity of approximately 100 to 125 cigars. Every humidor includes 25 Tampa Smokers Toro cigars and five uniquely shaped Tampa Smokers baseball bat cigars, making it a true tribute to Tampa’s longtime baseball and cigar heritage.
Featuring Exclusive Tampa Smokers Cigars
Tampa Smokers cigars are hand rolled in two sizes at J.C. Newman’s El Reloj cigar factory in Tampa, FL: a 6″x 52 toro and a 7″ baseball bat. Tampa Smokers cigars consist of an Ecuadorian Shade wrapper, Connecticut Broadleaf binder and filler tobaccos from Latin America.
